One live printing press makes up to 60 shirts an hour. Our standard build runs two presses with two printers and clears 100+ an hour at full tilt. For the guest, it's roughly two minutes from naming a size to holding the shirt.
Real throughput moves with the art (a one-color logo goes faster than a four-color print), how quickly guests decide, and whether the station runs live DTF, live screen printing in New York, or both. The press sets the ceiling. The room decides how close you get to it.
Sizing a live printing station to your New York headcount
- Up to about 150 guests: one two-press station covers a SoHo launch or a Midtown cocktail hour over the event window.
- 150 to 400 guests: add a press or a second station so the line stays short during the rush.
- 400+ or a packed window: multiple stations, which is common for a Javits Center booth or a waterfront festival day.
A convention aisle feeds a queue all day, so a Javits booth usually earns the second press. A seated finance dinner in the Financial District sends guests up in waves between courses and rarely needs one. Tell us how people will move through your room and we'll size it from there.
What sets the pace of live t-shirt printing at a New York event
Most of the speed is won before anyone reaches the press. We put the design board and the size wall at the front of the line, so guests pick while they wait and the printer isn't stuck holding a blank while someone decides between two prints. At a Javits booth the aisle feeds us all day and that setup alone keeps the queue moving. A Midtown office party is the opposite: nobody shows for 40 minutes, then a whole floor comes down at once. Do the math at roughly two minutes a guest and 100+ an hour, and a 300-person launch is about three hours on one station. If your window is 90 minutes, you want a second press. The live hat bar in NYC and live embroidery each get their own lane so a hat order never stalls the shirt line. The gear ships freight from La Habra, so the press count gets locked when we book the truck. We can't add one on the day. Tell us the headcount and the hours and we'll plan live printing in New York that clears the crowd you've got.
