Live Screen Printing in NYC

Live screen printing puts real presses, ink and squeegees on your floor and pulls one- to three-color designs while guests watch. It's live t-shirt printing the old way, one of five stations we run across NYC, and the one to pick when the same art is going on a lot of shirts.

We freight the whole kit from La Habra (presses, flash dryers, ink, blanks, tables) and the crew flies in a day before load-in. A standard station runs two presses with two printers and clears 100+ shirts per hour at full tilt, which is enough to keep a Javits aisle queue moving.

When screen printing is the right call in New York

  • One design at volume: a show day at Javits Center or a festival where every shirt gets the same art.
  • Bold, simple art: one to three colors, burned onto screens before the gear ships.
  • A station people watch: the pull is what guests film, and that counts at a launch competing with other events the same night.

It pairs with a live DTF station when you also want full-color art or personalization in the same footprint. Finance and media events often run both: the press for the main design, DTF for names.

Screens are burned in La Habra before the freight leaves, so final art is due about a week out. Late changes are easiest on the DTF side.

Screen printing on the New York floor

Only a small share of our events lead with screen printing, but nothing else matches it for bold prints in volume. On a Javits Center show floor the two-press station turns aisle traffic into a queue your reps can talk to, with each guest waiting about two minutes. We register the screens and pull test prints before doors, so the first shirt of the day looks like the last.

Off the convention floor it still earns a spot: a sponsor night at a Hudson Yards & Chelsea venue, a streetwear night in Williamsburg & DUMBO, or a sales kickoff in a Midtown Manhattan ballroom where a clean one-color logo is the whole brief. For the math on a big room, see how many shirts we print per hour.

What live screen printing needs in a New York venue

Each live screen printing station takes about 10×10 ft and two dedicated 120V/20A circuits. In New York the floor space is rarely the hard part. The dock is. Manhattan hotels and lofts usually give you a load-in slot and a freight elevator booking, and Javits runs on its own move-in schedule, so send those windows with the floor plan and we'll pack the crates to fit them. Once the screens are registered, a guest picks a shirt and walks off about two minutes later, and the two-press build holds 100+ shirts an hour. Most New York events land between $5K and $15K all-in, with freight from La Habra and crew travel as one line on the quote. If the art needs names or full color, set a live DTF printer next to the press, or add a hat bar for the crowd that already owns plenty of tees.
